AirBorne Health Formula: The Power of A Single IMage

A couple came to me with a product they just couldn’t sell. He was a public school teacher and the product was a pill they had created that prevented him from catching colds and flu.

The challenge:

The pharmacy chains they were counting on for sales didn’t understand their product and refused to carry it.

What we did:

I strategized with the founders on their product story and designed a package that explained Airborne’s value at a glance. I came up with this picture of a guy on a plane with a woman coughing next to him and a bunch of creepy germs floating around above him. The image provided instant clarity. We designed a package around it and the product went from zero sales to $100 million in under 2 years.

Outcomes:

On the strength of their new identity, Airborne gained nationwide distribution and became an instant success with consumers. It is still one of the best- selling health products on the market.
